Justgiving Widget version 2.0

Since we unveiled the Justgiving widget back in January, the take up has been huge: over 20,000 have been used online and they have been one of the biggest referrers to the Justgiving website, driving more and more people to fundraising pages to make donations.

We've now got even more good news for the fundraisers, not to mention the innovative charities, who've used the widgets up to now: Widget version 2.0 has arrived!

As you can see, it's a bit smaller and rounder than version 1, but it does a lot more: we've taken all the feedback we received from users and tried to integrate it all into version 2.0:

On the default view (Fundraising Progress), the page title is shown as scrolling text and includes the fundraising target and progress, as well as the last three comments made on the page.

But there's more!

Each Widget also has a menu that gives you options of what to display (click on the first widget to see these):

The My Charity option displays the Charity name, description and logo - a great way to spread the word about your cause.

Clicking on About Justgiving allows users to create their own fundraising page, search our list of charities and send us widget feedback.

The Share this widget option shows the html code needed to display the widget on any blog or website, enabling people to spread the word quickly and easily.

And the most important thing? The orange donate button, taking anyone who clicks on it through to the fundraising page on Justgiving where they can make a donation.

All you need to do to get a widget for any fundraising page is visit the page and click on “promote this page” (under the fundraising thermometer). Then click on “grab a fundraising widget” and simply copy the code provided onto your site to see the widget appear.
